Sicily: art, history and nature

Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. For centuries, it was at the centre of history. Wandering around the picturesque Sicilian towns with their winding streets, you will enjoy breathtaking views and sunsets, and admire Greek temples, Baroque churches, Roman ruins, Arabic buildings, Byzantine mosaics, and Norman roads. The island is blessed with a perfect year-round climate and, since it was the centre of trade in the Mediterranean Sea, its inhabitants know how to make incredible food and excellent wines. On this special island, you can find many artisan objects to give as gifts to your relatives and friends for Christmas: the amazing and famous ceramics of Caltagirone; the unique pupi, typical Sicilian marionettes; beautiful Nativity scenes; and toy models of the colourful Sicilian wagons.
