Arnaldo Pomodoro. 90 years of sculpture
As a birthday gift to the artist, the city of Milan in collaboration with Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro, will host the first big monographic exhibition of the artist’s work, in the Caryatids’ Room in Palazzo Reale. In an interesting selection of thirty of his works – and, for the first time in its totality, the magnificent and impressive sculpture The Pietrarubbia Group, an environmental masterwork designed between 1975 and 2015, and now displayed in Piazzetta Reale – we will see the cultural path taken by Pomodoro from 1955 to today. This is also a specific exhibition where we can better understand his poetry, and his careful research of the relationship between the artwork and the space surrounding it. This event in Palazzo Reale will be the centre of Pomodoro’s itinerary that characterizes various places in the city celebrating one of the country’s pre-eminent living artists.
